Singles Round Up - Junior Wimbledon

In the Wimbledon Junior event, Tennis First was well represented by current and former grantees. There were 4 players in the Girls’ event and 7 in the Boys’ event. 

Marni Banks and Victoria Allen lost out in the first round, as did Emma Raducanu in a close three set match. New grantee Matilda Mutavdzic successfully advanced to the third round. She fought hard to come back from a set down in her first two rounds showing determination and resilience. 

In the Boys’ event, James Story reached the second round losing a close three set match. Anton Matusevich had a fantastic tournament beating the number 1 seed to progress to the quarter-finals. Anton also reached the quarter-finals of the J1 Roehampton event leading up to Wimbledon. Congratulations on a great tournament.
